Solo: A Star Wars Actor Alden Ehrenreich Wants An Old Republic Movie

Lucasfilm has been busy building the future of the Star Wars franchise, creating new sets of trilogies and spinoff movies for the galaxy far, far away. Now that the studio's done with its second standalone movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story, young Han Solo actor Alden Ehrenreich talks about the era that he'd like to see on the big screen.

Speaking in an interview with Cinema Blend to help promote Solo, the Hail Caesar! actor revealed which Star Wars film he'd like to see next. Like a lot of other Star Wars fans, Enrenreich wants to see more movies focused on the early days of the republic.

"When I was learning about this, there's something called scouts, which is early days of the Republic, there were scouts whose job it was to basically go, they were like settlers. They were pioneers. They would go to unknown planets and learn about them and learn about these various planets. That seemed like a very interesting part of this world."

For those who aren't familiar with the Republic Scout Service, the group is an exploration organization funded by the Old Republic that maintained in-depth databanks of information in the galaxy far, far away's known planets, space stations, and colonies.

It looks like Ehrenreich is definitely onto something here. A film about a scout would definitely be a great way to explore other stories in the Star Wars franchise, expanding what we know about the expansive Star Wars universe.

Though Lucasfilm might have its hands full know with an Obi-Wan Kenobi spinoff and a new trilogy by Rian Johnson, we hope that they hear this one out.

Solo: A Star Wars Story premieres May 25.
