What Happened in Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 5?

In Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 5, A New Life, As Zarah knows her daughter’s birth is about to arrive, she writes her a personal letter about Snowpiercer. Alex takes care of Wilford, a first time in the series, as she looks up to him as a father figure and he still hasn’t recovered from a near-death experience with the syringe injected to him by Roche.

The whole train is celebrating as Zarah is about to give birth, the first new life on the train for years, and the passengers made a name tree for the baby. Zarah and Layton spend time in front of the name tree at the night car and the time has arrived, Zarah’s water broke and she has been taken to labor where Dr. Pelton was called to look after her birth because Layton doesn’t trust Mrs. Headwood after the experiments on their child.

As for Josie, she discovered from Mrs. Headwood that she lost the feeling of pain when she underwent cold-resistant treatment as a side effect. It is possible that Layton’s child would be able to suffer the same consequences after undergoing the same experiment that worked on Josie.

Pike talked to Ruth about standing against Layton because he thinks that Ruth is more capable of running the train than Layton, however, Ruth dismissed him because she trusts in the beliefs of Layton as their current leader.

While everyone is celebrating the birth of Layton’s child, the name tree catches fire and Bess started to look out on who lit it up. Layton joined the investigation and their first suspects are the managers of the night car, Lilah Jr. and Oz, who both assured that they weren’t the ones who did it. During their investigation, Bess and Layton discovered that a huge amount of ethanol went missing which points to the name tree fire.

Ben remains worried about Javi who still suffers trauma after what he had been through under Wilford’s regime. He asked Sykes to lend some support to Javi. Ben and Josie encountered each other and the former offered to teach her how to drive the Snowpiercer, it’s great to have someone man the wheels for a while, right?

As Ben and Josie bonded, Josie tells him she cannot feel the pain anymore due to the experiments given to her by Mrs. Headwood, then she asked him if he misses Melanie. It was a moment of intimacy between them. A second fire came up and an explosion followed which almost injured Layton badly. Javi found out that some explosives were missing in the storage. Layton, an expecting father, rushed to Zarah who is undergoing complicated labor.

Zarah did not have a smooth delivery of the child. She goes through labor and because of the side effects of the experiments on the baby, her temperature drops down and Dr. Pelton and Mrs. Headwood join forces to try and stabilize her condition by putting a heat blanket on her. Layton arrived and he remains on the side of Zarah as she pushes to give birth.

After a successful delivery, Ruth makes an announcement that a healthy baby girl has been born, six pounds and seven ounces. Audrey, trashed, got a guitar, and started playing a song. It was also shown that Wilford is now awake and Pike, when he heard the song as if something inside of him hit him hard that he ran to a small hallway, destroying what seems to be a detonator.

Layton and Zarah cherish the moment they have with their newborn daughter and Zarah holds her name, Liana, and when Layton asked what does the name mean, Zarah said that their child would be the one to put meaning to it. Dr. Pelton asked Bess what happened outside and she tells her that someone almost got to Layton and endangered his life.

What is the Title of Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 6?

Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 6 is titled “Born to Bleed” and the synopsis of the episode is as follows: “As the bomber is revealed, Layton comes to terms with his past decisions before making an irreversible call."

Following the events of Episode 5, the title and synopsis of the next run seem to pertain to the person who caused the fires. So far, Pike seems to be the most likely candidate to have started it. However, we all know that if he wanted Layton dead, he would already be.

Pike has a motivation to oust Layton but not to kill him, they were friends since they were Tailies. While he wants Ruth to lead, and obviously, that didn't work because Ruth is loyal to the leadership of Layton, Pike is on his toes on the last part of the episode destroying what looks like a detonator.

Did he really start the fire or someone else is behind the explosions? See, if it was just one fire, it is just a statement but there were two and one was directly pointed to Layton. It must be someone who really wanted him dead. With Wilford still on recovery, it couldn't be him, right?

Also, there is someone who has access to the storage as Javi noticed that some supplies were missing. Could it have been someone else?

As for the Netflix release of Snowpiercer, it happens in one bulk which means that for Season 3 of Snowpiercer, Netflix would have to wait for the whole season to finish its release on TNT. Netflix has yet to confirm or release the official release date of Snowpiercer on their streaming platform. For those living outside of the US, the episodes are released weekly on Netflix.

With that being said, the Netflix release date of Snowpiercer Season 3 would turn out to be anytime after March 28, 2022 which is the current release date of the finale of the season.
