Simu Liu has always been seen by people as a pretty laid-back individual but little do we know that he's been dealing with personal struggles for quite some time now. Last week, the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star shocked everyone when he revealed on social media that he's undergoing treatment to look after his mental well-being.

According to Simu, his newfound fame came with a huge price, and being in the public eye more following the success of his first Marvel Cinematic Universe outing took a massive toll on his mental health. Obviously, there's still a stigma surrounding mental health therapies but the Marvel actor wants to put an end to the common misconceptions about it.

Taking to Twitter, the star of the upcoming live-action Barbie movie explained that anyone can go through therapy even if they feel like they're not dealing with something entirely serious.

In true Simu fashion, the Canadian actor was able to squeeze a little humor into his post to lighten things up. He wrote: "You guys realize your life doesn't have to be on the verge of total collapse to be in therapy right? Like you can literally talk about whatever you want. Like I can spend a session talking about my one friend who borrows way too much money. He knows who he is."

It looks like Simu is in a better mental state these days and it's great that he's dealing with his issues upfront instead of ignoring them, which is oftentimes what some actors would resort to doing.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is streaming on Disney+.
