Simon Pegg Accidentally Reveals A Stormtrooper's Identity in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Over the past year, there have been a plethora of rumors tied to the production of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Some of them have been confirmed to be true, others were shut down (like Carrie Fisher's daughter's role), and some still tethered online for us to speculate.

One of the vague rumors we heard months ago was that Daniel Craig will star in the film but no details emerged about what role he would be playing. Now, Simon Pegg has revealed that Craig will be playing a Stomtrooper in the film:

While talking with The Sun on the red carpet of his London premiere for Man Up, he was asked about his rumored involvement in The Force Awakens, he outed the Stormtrooper:

"I wasn't a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper. … I shouldn't have said that."

So there you go! Daniel Craig is playing a Stormtrooper, but who knows if he will even take his helmet off. He's probably just a cameo in the film, but it would be cool to see him surprise the audience like what Matt Damon did in Interstellar. The news came from UK Independent, who also reported that an inside source revealed the following:

"Daniel [Craig] asked for some sort of secret cameo role - and was happy to have his name left off the posters. Fans will love trying to work out which covered-up character is him."

I guess we'll find out if we'll actually distinuish Craig in the film when Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes out in theaters on December 18.
