Simon Kinberg Comments on X-Men: Dark Phoenix Reshoots and X-Force Roster

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is in a fairly interesting position right now. There have been reports that claim Dark Phoenix will be the last Fox X-Men film, now that Disney has bought the studio. It's still going to be quite a while till see Dark Phoenix, especially now that it has been delayed to February 14, 2019.

Apparently, reshoots are the reason the latest X-Men film was delayed and it has made fans a bit worried. The fact that first-time director Simon Kinberg is working on it didn't help matter but he has assured fans that there's nothing particularly wrong with the movie.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Kinberg brushes off the concerns by saying that it's normal for all big movies these days. This is actually true but last year's Justice League was considered such a disaster due to reshoots that fans have never really gotten over it. Here is hoping Kinberg is right and Dark Phoenix ends up being a quality film.

"It's normal for all these big movies now. We'll go back when we can get all those actors together, and then it will give me enough time to have it ready and looking perfect."

While Kinberg is a first-time director, he has also been a long-time producer of the franchise and will continue being in that position for the time being. One other film he will be producing is X-Force and he revealed that the team in Deadpool 2 might not be the focus in the new film, aside from Domino and Cable.

"Drew, Ryan, and I sat down and talked quite a bit about what X-Force would be, but we haven't on settled who those characters are yet. But certainly we'd want Cable and Domino to be part of it."

X-Men: Dark Phoenix comes out on February 14, 2019. Deadpool 2 comes out this month, on May 18. No release date for X-Force has been announced.
