The Russo Bros. Want to Work With The X-Men and Fantastic Four in the MCU

Now that Disney is in the process of buying Fox, everyone is salivating over the fact that the X-Men and Fantastic Four will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It turns out The Russo Brothers, fresh off Avengers: Infinity War, are just as excited as fans, if not more so.

During an interview with Playback, Anthony and Joe Russo expressed plenty of excitement over the possibility of them getting their hands on these characters. The directing duo has said that they have had the best moments of their careers in Marvel, so if they stay the two really want to get their hands on these Fox characters.

Both of them previously expressed interest in adapting the classic Secret Wars storyline, which was brought up again in this interview. When the interviewer mentions how the story would be the perfect introduction to the X-Men and Fantastic Four, the two brothers agreed.

Considering how well they've handled Captain America in Winter Soldier and Civil War, fans should be pretty excited. The Russos can seemingly do no wrong. Granted, they fridged Gamora but that's a different topic for another day. It's clear that the two care a lot about these Marvel characters and we can only hope that they direct a future film with either of those characters.

Avengers: Infinity War is now showing in theaters. X-Men: Dark Phoenix hits theaters on Feb. 14, 2019.
