Sicario 2 Director In Talks To Direct Call Of Duty Movie


Movies based on video games don't usually get a good reputation, so it was surprising to hear about Activision decided to make a film division called Activision Blizzard. With plans to make a Call of Duty film, as well as a cinematic universe based on the franchise. It looks like the people within the company are trying to take this seriously, as reports have come in about the director of Sicario 2 could be helming the Call of Duty movie.

According to Variety, Stefano Sollima is in discussions to direct the upcoming Call of Duty film. No word on when the film will come out or if it will be based on a particular game but Activision Blizzard does want to make this a cinematic universe. Only time will tell if this ends up working for the popular video game franchise but we will see.

Stacey Sher and Nick van Dyke are the presidents of Activision Blizzard and will be producing the upcoming video game film, hoping to compete with Marvel in terms of cinematic universes. This might be difficult since the games are grounded in reality and only a few memorable characters but we'll see what happens.

No release date for the film has been unveiled. Fans of the series can get Call of Duty WW2 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
