She-Hulk Writer Causes Controversy by Comparing COVID-19 to The Rise of Skywalker

Sometimes, you try to be funny on Twitter and end up getting a ton of hate. Usually, that hate isn't deserved but there comes a time when the public can be right. This appears to be one of those times as She-Hulk and Pickle Rick writer Dana Schwartz did the unthinkable and decided to compare the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

No joke, this writer decided to compare a life-threatening disease that is forcing people to stay in their homes and potentially killing others who have to work to a bad Star Wars movie. While the writer did try to be humorous in these dark times, this just wasn't the right material to do it with and it comes off as very insensitive to what people are going through right now.

Just to be clear; we don't think that Dana Schwartz should lose her job or anything like that. Shows like Rick and Morty or South Park do make jokes like these and we let it slide because they depict these situations in a way that's humorous, yet smart. This was a poor joke and one that should have been thought of more but we would still want to see Schwartz work on the upcoming She-Hulk series.

Hopefully, Schwartz decides to apologize for her remarks and we can all move on. This was a pretty tasteless joke but we're sure some people got something out of it. Next time, just think before you post.
