Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Home Release Trailer Shows the Jedi Voices Guiding Rey

Lucasfilm just released a brand new promo for the home media release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and it looks like the trailer shows us the faces of all of the voices that Rey (Daisy Ridley) heard right before she summons the power of the Force to defeat Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid).

Posting on the official Star Wars Twitter handle, Lucasfilm released a short trailer for The Rise of Skywalker's home release. The video shows that moment in Rey's final battle with Palpatine where she hears the voices of old Jedi telling her to rise and take her final steps as a Jedi. While Episode IX doesn't really show who exactly is giving Rey advice in the film, the trailer matches each voice to clips of the Jedi taken from the Skywalker saga.

We get to see various scenes from Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor), Anakin (Hayden Christensen), Luminara Unduli (Mary Oyaya), Qui-Gon (Liam Neeson), Mace Windu (Samuel Jackson), Yoda, and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).

Lucasfilm gave The Rise of Skywalker an earlier Digital HD release, dropping the film on home media Friday last week. The film was originally slated to release on Digital HD on March 17, however, the novel coronavirus pandemic has seemingly forced the studio to release the film earlier than intended.

The spread of COVID-19 has had a major effect on the entertainment industry. Not only have major events like SXSW and Emerald City Comic Con been cancelled, but upcoming movies like Mulan, Black Widow, and No Time to Die have all been delayed in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently available on Digital HD. The film is set to release on DVD, Blu-Ray, and 4K Ultra HD on March 31.
