Shazam!'s Zachary Levi Believes Henry Cavill is Still Superman

With Henry Cavill taking the lead role of Netflix's The Witcher, a lot of people were lead to believe that he's done playing Superman for the DCEU. However, the more accurate report may be that Cavill has no idea when he's going to be Superman again because there are no projects with him in active development. Shazam!'s Zachary Levi is very optimistic about Cavill though and assures fans that he's still the Man of Steel.

Talking to ComicBookMovie, Levi said this when he was told that Cavill had walked away from the Superman role:

"Well, but he's still Superman… He's still Superman. Just because they haven't gotten around to making another standalone Superman movie, doesn't mean he's still not Superman and doesn't mean he's still not killing it as Superman. Doesn't mean everybody doesn't still love him as Superman, right?"

It was said that Cavill was set for a cameo in this film, but had to refuse since he was working on The Witcher. With the Shazam! reshoots taking place last December though, a lot of fans are hoping that Cavill had found the time to shoot even just one cameo. Heck, why don't they just send some people to the Witcher set and have him act against a green screen?

While we don't really know when we'll get to see Cavill in the DCEU again, the franchise is slowly getting back on its feet. Aquaman was a huge hit, and Shazam! is also getting a lot of positive buzzes. Hopefully, in a few years, WB will revisit the possibility of another Superman movie with Cavill onboard.
