Shazam!: Zachary Levi is Ready to ‘Kick The Rock's Ass’

The Rock may be attached to play Captain Marvel's nemesis Black Adam in the DCEU, but he won't be appearing in next year's upcoming Shazam!. Zachary Levi, who plays the lead, comments on his eventual clash with Black Adam and says he still has no idea when the two rivals will actually meet onscreen.

During an appearance at the Baltimore Comic-Con (via CBR), Levi explained:

"I don't know when they're going to make that standalone live-action movie but I know that's the plan… I hope that eventually Shazam and Black Adam get to fight each other because I'd like to kick The Rock's ass. Because that's what would happen, right?"

For now, Shazam is set to go against another classic villain Doctor Sivana, who will be played by Mark Strong. We haven't really seen much of Sivana in the trailers, but I have a feeling he's going to come out as some generic comic villain as the rest have become. Then again, Strong is a very impressive actor, and I hope he makes his Sivana something a bit more memorable than a typical MCU villain.

As for Black Adam, it was previously rumored that he was going to make his debut in the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel, but it looks like those plans didn't push through. We don't have any idea on where Adam could actually pop-up, but I'm hoping for some kind of cameo when Shazam! hits theaters next year.

Catch Zachary Levi in Shazam! in theaters April 5, 2019.
