Shazam! Trailer Reveal Pushed Back

Well, this is sure to frustrate some DCEU fans. It had been announced by Zachary Levi that we would be getting a new trailer for Shazam! come the new year, but it was reported that the trailer would be releasing on the 19th. Now news has come out that the release of the trailer has been delayed.

According to Daniel Richtman, the release of the trailer has been pushed back to Jan. 22. We don't really know as to why WB has decided to delay the release, but it could have something to do with the drop of a new Toy Story 4 trailer rumored to be coming this week as well. Some also speculate that it has something to do with the Spider-Man: Far from Home trailer being surrounded by a lot of hype.

Ideally, trailers should be dropped when there isn't too much buzz going on so that they could grab the most attention out of the audience. For sure when Shazam! drops, it's going to be everything the internet would be buzzing about. Let Spider-Man have this week for now.

After a huge slump with the release of Justice League, the DCEU is back with the release of Aquaman. Let's just hope that the franchise manages to keep its footing and Shazam! is also a big success. After that, we can look forward to the release of Joker this coming October. Next year, we'll get Birds of Prey then Wonder Woman 1984.

Billy Batson is a streetwise 14-year-old who can magically transform into the adult superhero Shazam simply by shouting out one word. His newfound powers soon get put to the test when he squares off against the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

Shazam! soars into theaters April 5.
