Shazam!: Director Shares Look at Silly Censorship for the Film

Aquaman had just landed in the box office, and people are already looking forward to the next DCEU film, Shazam!. The film is still going through some post-production, and director David F. Sandberg shares some fun dialogue change when it comes to the censorship of the movie.

Check it out:

No doubt this is just one of the sillier lines that they came up with for the censorship. It's nothing like "This is what happens when you find a stranger in the alps!" line from The Big Lebowski though.

I have to say, I'm getting pretty excited for the release of Shazam!. While Aquaman did have it's funny moments, you can always feel that there was a more serious movie underneath all of the jokes and quips. When it comes to Shazam! though, it was always meant to be a comedy action film—much like Guardians of the Galaxy. I can't wait to see what kind of jokes Sanberg has in store for the movie.

We haven't gotten a preview from Shazam! since SDCC last year, but news has it that we're getting a new trailer this coming Jan. 19. It's only a matter of time as well. With the movie coming out in a few months, you'd think that DC had dropped at least three trailers by now.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he'll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Shazam! hits theaters April 5.
