The idea of another DC Comics and Marvel comics crossover would be a cool concept and something that'll excite the fans. Of course, this isn't something that can't be done easily which is why this is just a mere fantasy for fans. However, since comic shops are struggling amidst the coronavirus outbreak, the concept could be a good boost for shops once they reopen.

The idea came from Birds of Prey writer Gail Simone, where she took to Twitter to suggest that there should be another Marvel/DC crossover. Though she knows that it'll likely never happen, she pointed out that it could make a "huge difference to shops." From that idea, Shazam! director David F. Sandberg shared his dream crossover between the two if he would ever have his way.

"I mean, I'm a big Spider-Man fan," Sandberg told ComicBook.com. "So I mean, that's the first thing that pops into my head, because I just love Spider-Man." The director would like the wall-crawler to cross paths with Shazam! but he doesn't know whether they would work well together. However, Sandberg noted that while the hero is being portrayed by Zachary Levi, the character is still "very much" a teenager, making his age line up with Peter Parker's.

Although it would be cool to see both characters from different universes interact in one project, it seems that it'll unlikely happen. That said, it's still a cool thought to ponder on.

Spider-Man 3 is set for release on July 16, 2021. While Shazam! 2 arrives in theaters on April 1, 2022.
