I think it's already safe to say that great things are in store for Simu Liu in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and with his debut comic book film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings currently getting rave reviews from the folks who've already seen it, the newest Marvel hero could easily become one of the major players for the franchise moving forward.

Simu is currently living his dream of becoming a part of the Marvel family and this early, he's already looking into the future now that he's done with the project. Turns out, the actor plans to become a main fixture in the MCU and revealed that he'd love to do a team-up project with the new Captain America Anthony Mackie.

In a press junket interview with the Associated Press, the Canadian star expressed his desire to work with Mackie in the MCU but pretty much implied that it's not up to him. He said: "I would hypothetically love to, potentially, perhaps, maybe, someday work with him. If that was in the cards, maybe, again, not sure, cannot confirm nor deny. I've already said too much."

When you think about it, both actors (not just their characters) share a pretty similar background. Mackie and Liu have never been seen as superhero material by many people for plenty of reasons, both personal and political but they've proven everyone wrong. That alone instantly creates a great dynamic for the two and while it's still a little too early to tell whether they'll find themselves teaming up in a project, always remember that everything is possible in the MCU.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is scheduled to premiere in cinemas on September 3, 2021.
