Simu Liu's road to becoming part of the Marvel Universe is definitely one for the books. To those unaware, prior to his Marvel Cinematic Universe casting, the Canadian actor has been lobbying on social media to become part of the billion-dollar franchise and after years of manifesting, he finally got his wish. However, if he had things his way, he'd like for the fans to stop talking about the viral tweets that some people believe helped him land the titular role in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Most of you may recall that in 2014, Simu famously tweeted Marvel Studios asking when the franchise would introduce an Asian-American superhero. Years later, when the studio announced that they're doing a Shang-Chi film, Liu once again tweeted about being potentially cast in the project, and just months after, he was formally announced as the Master of Kung Fu at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con.

In a press junket interview with BBC Radio 1's Ali Plumb, the Marvel newcomer once again recalled his epic journey to becoming a member of the MCU's growing roster of heroes but pleaded with fans to stop asking him about the said tweets.

He may appear extremely exhausted from people telling stories about his old tweets but I'm pretty sure Simu is just messing with us. It's worth mentioning as well that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said in previous interviews that he never saw the said tweets Liu posted on his Twitter page and if anything, he got the gig because he had what it takes. It was meant to happen all along.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is now screening in cinemas in North America.
