Shang-Chi Star Michelle Yeoh Joins The Witcher: Blood Origins Cast

It looks like Michelle Yeoh is still one of the busiest stars in Hollywood. The Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings actress have just joined the cast of The Witcher: Blood Origins.

Netflix confirmed that Yeoh has been cast as Scían, a warrior elf who will play a key role in Blood Origins. Scian is described as "the very last of her nomadic tribe of sword-elves, she is an artist with the blade, on a deadly quest that will change the fate of the Continent."

This is great news for fans who have been wondering if Yeoh will join any of the Netflix shows right now. After all, the Star Trek: Discovery actress has a knack for finding awesome roles in fantasy and sci-fi projects. Needless to say, we can't see her in action again soon.

The Witcher: Blood Origins will serve as a prequel to the current Witcher series starring Henry Cavill. The spin-off series will take place 1,200 years before the birth of Geralt of Rivia and will reveal how the Witchers came to be. The show will also star Laurence O'Fuarain and Jodie Turner-Smith.

Yeoh has several projects coming up this year. She will star as the mysterious Jiang Nin in Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings, her second MCU role after playing Aleta Ogord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Yeoh will join her GOTGV2 co-star Karen Gillan in Gunpowder Milkshake, which premieres on July 14, 2021.

Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings premiere on September 3, 2021. The Witcher: Blood Origins has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
