Shang-Chi Release Date on Disney Plus: How and When You Can Watch

Despite the ongoing threat of the pandemic as COVID is shaking the world, the theater industry is slowly picking itself up and movies are starting to get an exclusive cinema release. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is now making its share as it would only be out on the big screen, to date. However, many are asking the question of how and when you can watch it on Disney Plus.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings form part of the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and introduce the titular character, his origins, and the arrival of the real Mandarin, the villain teased as early as Iron Man 3. With the addition of the new hero, Shang-Chi is expected to join the rest of the characters in the MCU not long after his debut.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings did not follow the footsteps of Black Widow with the way it has been released as it opened only exclusive to theaters. It does not have a Disney+ Premier Access release limiting it to the cinemas and the big screen. Still, it's only a matter of time when the film will be arriving on the streaming platform.

Shang-Chi Release Date on Disney Plus: How and When You Can Watch

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will only be exclusive in theaters within a 45-day period. This means that it will still be on Disney+ after some time, and the fans would just have to wait for it to arrive on the said streaming platform. As confirmed by Disney CEO Bob Chapek in an interview with Collider, the film only be in cinemas for 45 days.

Chapek shared, "We think it's actually going to be an interesting experiment for us because it only has a 45-day window for us [before it heads to streaming.]"

This means that after 45 days from September 3, 2021, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be arriving on Disney Plus for free. However, it would be a little later as Disney Plus announced that the film will banner the Disney Plus Day on November 12, 2021.

The subscription price of $7.99 monthly or $79.99 annually will suffice. A simple subscription can get you Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings for free on the said release date.
