Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was a huge success at the box office and, as expected, it was recently announced that a sequel is officially coming on its way with Destin Daniel Cretton returning to write and direct. Of course, some fans are wondering what will happen in the next installment or who might join the cast. Apparently, Cretton has an idea.

Speaking with CinemaBlend, Cretton was asked about which legendary Asian actor he would like to be part of the cast in the sequel. He answered, "I mean, if we could ever get Jackie [Chan] into a movie that would be a lifelong dream of mine."

Of course, as we all know, Jackie Chan is one of the most iconic action stars of all time and he is also considered as a treasure of Asian cinema thanks to his decades-long career in which he is known for directing and starring in a lot of action films in which he also did all the stunts by himself. It would be great for him to join the sequel whether it's an antagonist or mentor role and we can definitely bet that he will be doing a lot of awesome fighting scenes. It's also a full-circle moment since some of the action sequences in the first film were inspired by Chan's films.

The first film had iconic Asian actors Tony Leung and Michelle Yeoh as part of the cast and a lot can agree that they gave wonderful performances and they definitely levelled up the film with their presence. There's no doubt that Chan will also give a similar presence if he does end up joining the film. However, we don't know yet if Chan will be interested in joining a superhero movie. It's also been a while since he starred in a Hollywood film. But if he does end up joining the sequel, a lot of fans will be definitely delighted.
