Shang-Chi Actor Simu Liu Flexes His Impression of Star Wars' Emperor Palpatine

Simu Liu might officially be set to star as Shang-Chi in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the Marvel star has been spending his free time doing Star Wars voices instead.

COVID-19 has taken quite a toll on the entertainment industry, and the pandemic has shut down the production of many upcoming film and television projects, including Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Though work on the highly-anticipated Marvel movie is expected to resume in the next few weeks, Simu Liu has been savouring his time away from work by posting fun videos on social media.

Taking to Twitter, the Marvel star decided to show off his impressive voice acting skills, impersonating Star Wars biggest villain, Emperor Palpatine.

"Tiktok got me dusting off my Palpatine voice and dare I say it SLAPS," Liu wrote on his post on the social media site.

Liu does have a pretty good impression of the Sith Lord. Perhaps Marvel Studios Kevin Feige could employ Liu's skills in his upcoming Star Wars movie. Last year, Lucasfilm announced that Feige would be developing a brand new feature for Lucasfilm, and while the studio has yet to release details about the upcoming project, many anticipate a few cameos from Marvel stars who happen to be Star Wars fans like Brie Larson.

Of course, Feige could opt to hire actors and actresses outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it wouldn't be surprising to see a few fun cameos here and there.

The Skywalker saga is available for streaming on Disney+.
