Shailene Woodley Officially Just Diverged From The Divergent Franchise

Allegiant, the third film in the Divergent series starring Shailene Woodley, was supposed to have a second part, but since the film sucked so badly at the box office, producers considered its potential as a made for TV film, or a pilot to introduce a new show. Woodley has officially confirmed she's not going to be a part of that.

According to Vanity Fair, Woodley was asked on the red carpet for Big Little Lies on Tuesday if she'd be involved in the final Divergent film. "No," she said, "I'm not going to be on the television show."

Last September, Woodley told Screenrant: "I didn't sign up to be in a television show. Out of respect to the studio and everyone involved, they may have changed their mind and may be doing something different, but I'm not necessarily interested in doing a television show."

Back in August, Variety reported that Woodley and fellow Divergent actor Miles Teller learned about the new plans before it was officially announced.
