Sex and the City actor Willie Garson has died. He was 57.
As of writing, Willie Garson's cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
The actor was best known for his role as Agent Stanford Blatch in Sex and the City. He is a close friend of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker).
His character was also featured in the Sex and the City and Sex and the City 2 movies.
Other than his role in the hit franchise, Garson also starred in White Collar, where he played the role of Mozzie.
Celebrities, networks mourning Willie Garson's death
Sex and the City executive producer Michael Patrick King paid tribute to Garson.
"The Sex and the City family has lost one of its own. Our amazing Willie Garson. His spirit and his dedication to his craft were present every day filming And Just Like That. He was there — giving us his all — even while he was sick. His multitude of gifts as an actor and person will be missed by everyone. In this sad, dark moment we are comforted by our memory of his joy and light," he said in a statement.
Mario Cantone, who played Garson's on-screen partner in Sex and the City, is also mourning the actor's untimely demise.
"I couldn't have had a more brilliant TV partner. I'm devastated and just overwhelmed with sadness. Taken away from all of us way soon. You were a gift from the gods. Rest my sweet friend. I love you," he tweeted.
HBO and HBO Max also released a statement celebrating Garson's life.
"Willie Garson was in life, as on-screen, a devoted friend and a bright light for everyone in his universe. He created one of the most beloved characters from the HBO pantheon and was a member of our family for nearly twenty-five years. We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing and extend our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones," the network said.
Sex and the Citystars remember Willie Garson
Kim Cattrall called Garson's death a sad loss to the Sex and the City family.
Cynthia Nixon remembered Garson as a source of light, friendship, and showbusiness lore.
"We are bereft without him. He was smarter and funnier than you ever would have imagined," Kristin Davis wrote on her social media account.
Willie Garson is survived by his son
Garson has a son Nathen, and he was the one that confirmed his dad's passing via an Instagram post.
"I love you so much, papa. Rest In Peace and I'm so glad you got to share all your adventures with me and were able to accomplish so much. I'm so proud of you. I will always love you, but I think it's time for you to go on an adventure of your own. You'll always be with me," he wrote.
Was Willie Garson supposed to star in the Sex and the City sequel?
Willie Garson was supposed to reprise his role as Stanford Blatch in Sex and the City sequel And Just Like That. It is unclear how his character will be written out of the HBO Max series. But the network just dropped the first look from the upcoming show.
The over one-minute clip also features the other new shows that will premiere on HBO Max soon, as well as shows that already premiered but will release new seasons or episodes.

Fans that wish to see Garson in Sex and the City can stream the previous episodes from the hit series and movie franchise.
This month, Sex and the City isn't available on Netflix USA. However, Sex and the City Seasons 1 to 6 are available on Amazon Prime for a fee. Each episode may be purchased for $2.99 and an entire season may be purchased at $19.99.
Sex and the City TV show is also available to stream online and for free on Hulu. Even those with a trial subscription will have access to some episodes of the 1998 hit TV show.
Unfortunately, Sex and the City isn't available to stream on HBO Max this month.
