Seungri, a former BIGBANG member, continues to lose everything he has after the Burning Sun scandal.

Seungri found himself in the middle of hot waters after being named one of the people connected to the infamous Burning Sun scandal. It received several allegations surrounding the nightclub, including police corruption, hidden camera footage, drug distribution, sexual assault, tax evasion, and prostitution.

The former K-pop idol served as the nightclub’s creative director and shareholder since its launching in 2018.

Following his recent final sentencing, Instagram made a massive move by removing his account from the platform for good.

Seungri’s Instagram Account Removed From Platform

VIPs, BIGBANG’s fans, noticed on Monday afternoon that Seungri’s Instagram username, @seungriseyo, no longer appears on the search results.

Initially, Instagram turned his posts private after the May 26 ruling. But after a few days, it removed the account for good.

Fans immediately shared mixed reactions, as some of them – who have since forgiven him – reportedly visit his account whenever they miss the K-pop idol.

For what it’s worth, Instagram does not allow convicted sex offenders to use the platform. Ko Young Wook, Jung Joon Young, and Choi Jong Hoon previously had their accounts removed following their respective crimes.

The removal came soon after Seungri was indicted for nine criminal charges during his final sentencing. He was charged with several crimes, including illegal overseas gambling, the spread of illegally filmed sexual content, illegal prostitution, embezzlement, and threatening, to name a few.

He was found guilty of all nine charges.

Seungri Gets 18-Month Imprisonment

The Supreme court rejected Seungri and the prosecution’s appeals for his nine charges and upheld his 18-month sentence.

He was initially sentenced to three years in prison after he was found guilty of nine different charges. After the second trial, it was reduced due to his guilt for his actions.

Seungri previously attempted to have a lower sentence, while the prosecution wanted to have a longer one. He is expected to be released in February 2023.
