The Mandalorian Season 3 is set to premiere in a couple of weeks and it promises to be the show's biggest entry yet. Apart from the show's main plot centered on Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze's clash to determine the rightful ruler of the Mandalore throne, it looks like Season 3 will begin planting the seeds for the events of the polarizing Star Wars sequel trilogy.

Making Star Wars reports that the Praetorian Guards, who made their first live-action appearance in 2017's The Last Jedi will resurface in Season 3. The outlet claims that the guards, who served as Supreme Leader Snoke's protectors in the divisive sequel trilogy film will join Moff Gideon in the battle against Mando and his crew.

The report also added that Giancarlo Esposito's villain will be donning a new red and black armor with a helmet that closely resembles a Mandalorian warrior's headgear but with horns. This rumor surrounding Gideon's drastic redesign was previously reported last Star Wars News Net November.

Even Esposito himself has been teasing that we'll see "a good amount" of the cunning villain in Season 3.

Of course, the Praetorian Guards' potential involvement in the show will once again generate speculations about Snoke's possible MandoVerse appearance. It's worth noting that the previous season seemingly hinted that Gideon has been attempting to bring Emperor Palpatine back through cloning and he wanted to use Grogu for his experiment.

Over the course of the sequels, there were persistent rumors that the Supreme Leader would be revealed as a clone of Darth Sidious but The Rise of Skywalker pretty much debunked the theory, confirming that Snoke is nothing more than a puppet created by Palpatine.

The third season of The Mandalorian is hitting Disney+ on March 1, 2023.
