Seoul Ghost Story will start scaring K-drama fans very soon.

When it comes to South Korean horror stories, most fans will quickly think about Train to Busan, Hellbound, All of Us Are Dead, and Kingdom, to name a few. However, the country’s TV and film industry actually released several thrillers that haunted the viewers for a long time.

For this year, Seoul Ghost Story will follow the success of Goedamin 2020 as the upcoming sequel will soon arrive and offer new South Korean horror stories to the public.

Seoul Ghost Story To Feature K-pop Idols

Korea JoongAng Daily reported that several K-pop idols would appear in the 10 different horror stories of Seoul Ghost Story’s episodes.

MONSTA X’s Shownu, Golden Child’s Jaehyun, WJSN’s SeolA and Exy, Oh My Girl’s Arin, former Lovelyz member Jisoo, BTOB’s Minhyuk, Hoya, AleXa, and THE BOYZ’s Ju Haknyeon will mark their debut in the upcoming film.

Appearing with them on the project are Peninsula and Hellbound actor Kim Do Yoon, Lee Young Jin, Lee Soo Min, Lee Yul Eum, and Jung Won Chang.

Seoul Ghost Story initially announced its cast list in May after completing the filming in April. However, it only announced its premiere recently.

The horror film Seoul Ghost Story will be released on April 27.

Horror Film Already Earned Attention

Seoul Ghost Story had already reached success before its premiere, especially Hoya’s part in the film.

The segment Urban Myths: Tooth Worms earned praises and even received invitations from several international film festivals like the 13th Celluloid Screams: Sheffield Horror Film Festival and 25th Fantasia Film Festival.

The Co-director of the festival in Montreal, Canada, Nicolas Archambault, said that Hoya’s part is “thrilling.” It tells the story of a dentist, played by the former INFINITE member, who finds a creepy bug in his patient’s gums.

Hong Won Gi directed the upcoming horror film. He is known for spearheading over 1,500 commercials and several K-pop idols’ music videos like HyunA’s Bubble Pop, BTS’s No More Dream, and Taeyeon’s I.
