Fans have been looking forward to the MCU series Secret Invasion as it will focus on Nick Fury and Talos as they navigate the Skrulls who have been infiltrating all aspects of life on Earth. The exact plot details are still under wraps but more details are starting to emerge now that production is currently underway.
According to The Direct, Killian Scott, who was previously reported to be part of the series, will be playing a Skrull named Fiz. In the comics, the character is known to be a Mutant Skrull that has the ability to reduce and increase his size, besides the usual shape-shifting powers that Skrulls have. It is unknown though if the series will exactly follow the characteristics of Fiz in the comics.
The MCU films and shows don't usually follow the exact details of the characters or storylines that they are adapting from the comics. It is likely that Fiz in the series will not be a mutant. With that said, we also know that the MCU is closer to introducing the mutants since they now have the rights on the X-Men and they are confirmed to be using the characters in the franchise soon. It could be the reason why they are exactly using Fiz in the series and not just any other Skrull character. Maybe they are planning to make a connection to the X-Men in some capacity.
As of now, there is no confirmed information of an X-Men character that is set to appear in an MCU project soon. There are rumors however that Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier will be making an appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (although that hasn't been confirmed by anyone involved in the film). But we will hear soon enough if a mutant character will be making their debut in the MCU.
Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn are starring in the series reprising their respective roles in the MCU. Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Christopher McDonald, and the aforementioned Scott will also be part of the series, with the former reportedly playing the lead villain.
Secret Invasion is set to premiere on Disney+ next year.
