One of the MCU shows that are currently in the works is Secret Invasion which would focus on Nicky Fury and Talos as they navigate the Skrulls' infiltration of all aspects of life on Earth. Fans have been looking forward to the series as it will be based on a popular storyline in the comics and it will also be Nick Fury's moment to shine this time around.

Recently, Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury, took to Instagram and announced that filming for the series has already started. It is exciting to hear that the series has started filming as it is an indication that we will be able to watch it in just a matter of time. According to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, the series will not be a direct adaptation of the comics, but it will explore its political paranoia elements. It sounds like Secret Invasion will lean more on the political thriller genre just like Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It also looks like the series will explore the Skrulls more after their introduction in Captain Marvel and give Nick Fury an opportunity to shine on his own since he's always been a supporting player to the Avengers.

Besides Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn will also star in the series reprising the role of Talos. Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, and Olivia Colman have also been cast in undisclosed roles, with the former reportedly playing the lead villain. There were rumors that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Chloe Bennet will also be part of the series, but the actress quickly dismissed it. The series is expected to be consist of six episodes.

Secret Invasion is set to premiere in 2022 on Disney+.
