The final episode of Secret Invasion surprisingly didn't feature any post-credits scene which is an unusual move since most MCU films and TV shows always end up with a stringer that teases what's about to come in their future projects.

What makes the absence of the post-credits scene more surprising is the assumption that some of the plot threads may continue in the upcoming film The Marvels which will also feature the return of Nick Fury and has Skrull characters.

There could be legitimate reasons why the series didn't have any stinger in its finale and perhaps Marvel Studios would rather not make any promise or tease about the future of the MCU and just close it with a heartwarming moment surrounding Nick Fury and his wife.

Here's Why Secret Invasion Has No Post-Credits Scene

In an interview with TVLine, director Ali Selim was asked about the absence of the post-credits scene in the final episode of Secret Invasion and responded by directing the question toward Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

He said, "That’s a good question for Kevin Feige and the MCU at large. I know that they use these movies and series to launch things, or to wrap things up, and post-credit sequences serve to do that."

The director also admitted that he isn't sure what future project the end of the series was setting up and he speculated that Marvel felt that the ending didn't warrant the need of including a stinger.

"I don’t know what they’re launching with this show. I do know what they’re wrapping up, which is Nick Fury’s internal struggle with aging and with his sense of purpose and his sense of ‘other,’ which I think gets wrapped up really well," he said.

"And there’s not much else to say about that, so I don’t know that a post-credits sequence would help. But I also am certain they’re launching some things with what’s going on at the end of this series, and I guess they didn’t feel that any of those things warranted a post-credits sequence."

Considering that most MCU shows have featured post-credits scenes in the final episode, it really is baffling that Secret Invasion didn't have any although the divisive reactions to the series could also not have helped sway some of the audience to make them excited about the future.

Nevertheless, it sounds like a decision that Marvel Studios felt right about. After all, while it's been a tradition for them to end with a stringer, they are also not obligated to do it and what matters is the actual conclusion of the main story itself.
