In the past, we have seen Nick Fury working alongside the Avengers multiple times. But the trailer for Secret Invasion shows that the Avengers are not around. So, where are the Avengers during Secret Invasion?
In Marvel’s Secret Invasion, Nick Fury tries to prevent the Skrulls from taking over Earth. There have been terrorist attacks that are linked to the Skrulls, and this could lead to war.
The Skrulls are a big threat to the planet, so why doesn’t Nick Fury call Earth’s Mightiest Heroes? Where are the Avengers during Secret Invasion?
Where Are the Avengers During Secret Invasion?
After Avengers: Endgame, we haven’t seen the Avengers together again. Tony Stark/Iron Man and Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow died, and Steve Rogers/Captain America disappeared.
So, what about Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Thor, and Bruce Banner/Hulk? What happened to them?
We last see Clint in his television series, Hawkeye. He’s been spending time with his family and training a new hero, Kate Bishop.
As for Bruce, we last see him in his cousin’s series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Bruce teaches Jennifer Walters how to control her powers. We also find out that Hulk was in Sakaar, and that he has a son named Skaar.

As for Thor, we last see him in Thor: Love and Thunder. After Gorr the God Butcher dies, Thor adopts his daughter Love. So, we know that Thor has entered fatherhood, just like Hulk.
Now, what about the others? We know that Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Dr. Stephen Strange, and the rest all had their hands full after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
In Secret Invasion’s premiere, we’re not told where the Avengers are, although they are mentioned by Fury in a conversation with Talos.
Talos tells Nick that he’s not even 40 in human years and hasn’t gone on his midlife crisis shopping spree yet. Talos then asks Fury, “What’d you get for yours?” and Fury responds, “The Avengers.”
In Episode 2, the Avengers are referenced again. In a Skrull Council meeting, one asks, "And what happens if the Avengers return?"
Gravik responds, "You don't think I thought about that?" This shows that currently, the Avengers have been "missing" after the events that occurred in Avengers: Endgame and that if they do appear, Gravik already has a plan in place.

Why Nick Fury Doesn’t Call the Avengers in Secret Invasion
In the trailer for Secret Invasion, Nick Fury says that this war is one he has to fight alone. In an interview with Vanity Fair, actor Samuel L. Jackson said that there’s a “good reason” why Fury does not call the Avengers:
“What he's not doing is calling in his super friends. So that’s part of the whole dilemma. I mean, people want them and he’s not bringing them. You’ll find that out. There’s a very good reason he’s holding back.”
Jackson also said in an interview with Empire Magazine (via Screen Rant) that the reason for his character not calling the Avengers will “come up”:
"He's trying to solve a problem without people who have superpowers...There's a very good explanation for that. That'll come up."
In Episode 2, Nick Fury tells Rhodey about the Skrull invasion, and Rhodey responds that maybe they should call their "friends."
However, Fury says that they "can't jump the gun on that" and that getting the Avengers in a fight with the Skrulls could result in the Avengers getting "duplicated and turned into terrorists."
Skrulls can change into anyone, so it makes sense for Fury not to take risks. Fury even tells Rhodey that the crazy part is that they're being invaded, but they can't even tell who the invaders are.
Additionally, in Episode 5, when Sonya Falsworth asks Fury why he hasn't called any of his "special friends" down, Fury responds, "This is personal. We can't keep depending on these superheroes to swoop in and save our asses."
"None of them have lived the life I have. None of them can defend the world the way I can," Fury adds.
So, Nick Fury doesn't call the Avengers because he doesn't want the Skrulls impersonating them.
He also doesn't call them because the mission to him is personal, and he thinks that they shouldn't just keep depending on superheroes.
