SDCC 2019: The Walking Dead Season 10 Trailer Teases Michonne Wielding Lucille

The annual The Walking Dead tradition continues as the first trailer for Season 10 was unveiled at Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. It's a lengthy trailer that teases at new romances, new alliances, and of course, new battles.

The trailer opens with a walker washing up on the beach, a theme that would be teased several times throughout the video. Does this mean the survivors are trying to find a way out of land this season?

Negan is also back to his snarky self, joking about how the boogeyman is just around the corner. Michonne, on the other hand, is dead serious about the whole situation. "Fear is dangerous," she says. "It can drive us apart again."

Fear is undoubtedly the driving factor in the Season 10 trailer but some of the best moments here come from the refreshingly humorous lines. When Alpha picks on Carol for crossing the boundaries and announcing that she has to be punished, Carol simply answers, "Bitch has to die."

There's certainly a war coming (yet again) in The Walking Dead Season 10 and it looks like Michonne has found the perfect weapon for the fight. The last scene (which is preceded by an awesome exchange between Daryl and Carol) shows Michonne glowering at someone before revealing that she has taken hold of Negan's bat Lucille.

What is happening here? Why does Michonne have Lucille? Why is everyone gathered around the beach? Why is Michonne kissing Ezekiel?

All of these questions will finally be answered when The Walking Dead Season 10 premieres on AMC on October 6.
