We had just recently gotten news that WB is planning on rebooting the Scooby Doo franchise as an animated one, and we know that the movie will feature the likes of Will Forte (Shaggy), Gina Rodriguez (Velma), Frank Welker (Scooby), and Tracy Morgan (Captain Caveman). Now Mystery Inc. looks to be complete as the movie has already found Fred and Daphne.

According to Deadline, Zac Efron will be taking over for team leader Fred and Amanda Seyfried will be playing Daphne. So far we don't know who's playing the main villain Dick Dastardly yet, but at least the movie already has a complete cast for the main characters.

While some are pleased that Scooby Doo is getting rebooted, a lot of people are kind of angered that the film didn't cast Matthew Lillard as Shaggy. Besides playing Shaggy in the live-action films, Lillard has practically taken over for the character when it comes to voice work as well. It's a shame he wasn't ‘famous enough' to get cast in the reboot. I mean, his co-star Frank Welker still got cast as Scooby.

For now, I'm kind of convinced that Scoob is going to launch a cinematic universe for Hanna-Barbera characters, seeing as some non-Scooby faces are going to appear in the film. Besides Captain Caveman, I think we could be seeing appearances from Penelope Pit-Stop, Secret Squirrel, and Top Cat as well.

Scoob is set for a release on May 2020.
