Oscar nominee and MCU veteran Scarlett Johnsson might lead the next installment of the Jurassic World franchise.
Months ago, it was reported that Universal Pictures is fast-tracking a new installment in the Jurassic World franchise that will focus on new characters and won't heavily connect to the past films.
Rogue One director Gareth Edwards was recruited to direct the film which is set to begin production this year ahead of its scheduled release in theaters next year.

New Jurassic World Movie Taps Scarlett Johansson as the Lead
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Johansson is currently in talks to star in the new Jurassic World movie.
There are no details yet regarding the role that the Black Widow star will potentially play in the film once she officially signs on.
This is the first major casting news for the film ever since the project was announced. It also won't be Johansson's first rodeo in a major franchise since she starred as Natasha Romanoff in the MCU franchise for many years.
If Johansson's casting ends up happening, it could add more interest to the film since she is the type of A-list actress who is capable of attracting moviegoers with her name and has the caliber to carry a major project.
She will also be following the footsteps of Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, Chris Pratt, and Bryce Dallas Howard, who all led the past Jurassic movies and became bigger stars thanks to their involvement in the franchise.
It is curious to see how it will all play out in the coming weeks and it is likely that we will be getting a confirmation on her casting very soon as the project is pushing to begin shooting this summer.
The new Jurassic World movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 2, 2025.
