Separately, there are 13 King Kong movies and 38 Godzilla movies under their franchises. Officially, the MonsterVerse started in 2014 but has continued to this day.

Unlike Godzilla, King Kong is an American-produced and created franchise.

Since the first King Kong movie, there have been 12 films that followed. The franchise also spawned TV shows, novels, comic books, video games, attractions, and merch.

In some movies, Kong is a benevolent character. Others have also shown him to be a violent protagonist.
