Sarah Jessica Parker Shock: Sex And The City Star, Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy Spotted On Set Of Hocus Pocus 2 In Rhode Island

Filming for the highly-anticipated Disney sequel Hocus Pocus 2 is now underway, and Emmy Award-winning actress Sarah Jessica Parker has just been spotted for the first time on set. The 56-year-old actress was recently spotted at the Museum of Newport History in Rhode Island, filming scenes for the upcoming movie.

Photos of the actress showed her in full costume, portraying her original role in the first movie as the dim-witted Sanderson sister, Sarah Sanderson. Parker played one of the three witches in the original movie alongside Bette Midler, who played Winifred, and Kathy Najimy, who played the Mary Sanderson.

Parker was seen wearing a ceremonial robe, a costume that was designed by Salvador Perez Jr. Parker also wore a platinum-blonde wig. Underneath her robe, parker wore a lavender long-sleeved top and a maroon maxi skirt. She was photographed exiting the building surrounded by people covering her with umbrellas.

Midler, who played the smart elder Sanderson sister, was also spotted on the set. The actress, who is just an Oscar away from getting the EGOT status, was seen covering herself with a newspaper on set. She was also wearing her iconic costume and distinctive red curly wig. Her costume was several layers of colorful fabric paired with a pair of curly-toed pilgrim boots.

Also on set was Najimy, who played the middle witch who had the ability to smell out children in the original Hocus Pocus movie. Najimy was also seen in her witch costume during filming.

Production for the Disney movie sequel officially began on Nov. 1 in Newport. The original movie and the sequel will be taking place in Salem, Massachusetts, but directors likely thought Newport would be an adequate stand-in.

For the second movie, the first Hocus Pocus movie’s director, Adam Shankman, has been replaced by Hot Pursuit director, Anne Fletcher.

Hocus Pocus 2 will have roughly the same premise as the first. Only this time, instead of being accidentally conjured up by a teenage boy on Halloween night, the three witches will be accidentally resurrected by three high-school girls in modern says Salem. The three teens must then figure out how to put a stop to the child-hungry Sanderson witches who are planning to wreak havoc on the world.

Hocus Pocus 2 Cast Members And Release Date

Confirmed to be returning to the sequel is Doug Jones, who played the teen zombie Billy Butcherson. The movie will also feature new faces played by Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, and Hannah Waddingham.

The original 1993 fantasy horror-comedy movie was a box office success when it was released. The movie raked in $44.9 million at the global box office. Hocus Pocus 2 will premier in the fall of 2022 in theaters and on Disney’s streaming service, Disney+.
