San Diego Comic-Con at Home Will be FREE for Everyone

Just like E3 2020, San Diego Comic-Con had to be cancelled this year thanks to COVID-19. The organizers are opting for a virtual event called Comic-Con at Home and we have some new details for what was one of the most anticipated geek events of the year.

According to Collider's Steven Weintraub, the virtual Comic-Con at Home will be taking place on the original SDCC 2020 dates July 22–26, and the event has been confirmed to be free for everyone. Here's the post:

Weintraub has also added that there will be a Masquerade, gaming, and several other activities where fans can participate from home, and there will also be an online exhibit hall for exhibitors where they will also be offering special deals and limited-edition items.

While we're just getting general information for now, I expect specifics to come out before the month ends. I'm sure a lot of people would want to participate in these online events, and it's likely that they will have to register, especially when it comes to games. I imagine the Masquarade can just be pulled off by sharing a hashtag.

Besides all the events that fans can participate in, fans are also hoping that the studios drop all the big trailers for upcoming movies. Hopefully Marvel Studios gives us a look at their upcoming Disney+ shows like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision; don't forget our first teaser for The Mandalorian Season 2. As for the DC side of things, I think it's time to drop teasers for The Batman, The Suicide Squad, and Zack Snyder's Justice League. Throw in the announcement of David Ayer's Suicide Squad while you're at it, WB.

Catch SDCC at Home when it takes place online on July 22–26.
