I think we can all agree that Samuel L. Jackson is one of Hollywood's finest actors, and it already comes as no surprise how he's still in the business after so many years. However, it may come as a huge shocker to many that the coveted Academy Award has eluded Jackson's stellar acting career.

He did come close to capturing the Oscar trophy after being nominated in 1995 for his iconic performance in Pulp Fiction but that's about it. Of course, considering Jackson is still active in the entertainment industry, there's still a huge chance that an Academy Award is in his future but by the looks of things, the Marvel and Star Wars actor's Oscar quest is done.

In an interview with The Los Angeles Times, Jackson shared that he's more excited to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Nick Fury and potentially in the Star Wars franchise as Mace Windu. And despite not having an Oscar under his belt, Jackson pretty much said that it's not a priority.

He explains: "I was never going to let the Oscars be a measure of my success or failure as an actor. My yardstick of success is my happiness: Am I satisfied with what I'm doing? I'm not doing statue-chasing movies. You know [whispers]: 'If you do this movie, you'll win an Oscar.' No, thanks. I'd rather be Nick Fury. Or having fun being Mace Windu with a lightsaber in my hand."

Speaking of Mace, rumor has it that the beloved Jedi will be making his grand return to a galaxy far, far away and while Jackson hasn't confirmed his involvement in any Star Wars project, he did previously express his desire to make a comeback.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is streaming exclusively on Disney+.
