In an article written by KBizoom, the 35-year-old actor acquired a building in 2020 worth 5.8 billion won or around 4,450,000 USD.
Ryu Jun Yeol decides to rebuild it, costing him around 2.4 billion won or 1,841,000 USD. After two years, the property was completed and sold for 15 billion won or a whopping 11,505,000 USD, which is a massive capital gain.
As cited by the same report, the said property in Yeoksan-dong is initially a single-story building but transformed into a 7-story building with two basement floors.
In the construction process, he earned a loan of about 1.7 billion won as a new fund.
However, it wasn't a straight-up cash payment but was acquired through a bank loan after the actor loaned 5.2 billion won, making the property 90 percent of the sale price borrowed through a bank.
Interestingly, “Building Road” chief team leader Shin Jong Yeop explained how Ryu Jun Yeol’s new real estate raked billions of won by flipping a property.
“The buy and sale of that building helped him earn a tremendous amount of profit because it already excluded property acquisition tax, construction cost, interest fees, etc.” the chief team leader said, adding, “There are still final stages, such as balance payment and registration transfer.”
The real estate is just among the actor’s income besides his acting career.
