Kim Tae Ri dishes out her closeness with co-star Ryu Jun Yeol at the press conference of her new movie Alien.
The 32-year-old beauty and Ryu Jun Yeol join fellow stars Kim Woo Bin, So Ji Sub, Yeom Jung Ah, Jo Woo Jin, and Kim Eui Sung at the media briefing ahead of the movie’s premiere.
Alien is a two-part new sci-fi fantasy movie helmed by The Thieves and Assassination director Choi Dong Hoon.
It follows a story of a mysterious portal that connected the present people to Taoists from the Goryeo Dynasty amid the search for a legendary sword.
A group of people in the present era are chasing down an alien prisoner who has been trapped inside a human’s body.
Set to be released on July 20, Kim Tae Ri plays Yi Ahn, a woman who can shoot thunder.
At the press conference, the actress got candid and spoke about her experience on the set of her new movie.
Kim Tae Ri Shares How Thankful She is for Ryu Jun Yeol
The Twenty-Five Twenty-One star mentioned her closeness to co-star Ryu Jun Yeol who plays Taoist Moo Reuk.
As obtained by KBizoom, Kim Tae Ri revealed that the 35-year-old actor helped her become more comfortable on the set.
“Ryu Jun Yeol and I can understand each other just by looking at the eyes. He is an actor who is a comrade that I love so much,” she said.
Despite being one of the in-demand female leads of her generation, the actress admitted that she was “nervous” about filming the movie.
“I was really nervous and scared on the first day of filming and the day before, but thanks to Ryu Jun Yeol, the director, and Kim Eui Sung, I overcame it.”
Moreover, she also mentioned how the Alien director and senior actor Kim Eui Sung made her feel more at ease while on the set.
“I went to the set, and there were Kim Eui-sung, director Choi Dong-hoon, and Ryu Jun Yeol, so I thought that the set would feel very comfortable as my nervousness melted at that moment,” the actress explained.
Kim Tae Ri expressed how thankful she is for Kim Eui Sung who visited her even though he didn't have a schedule for filming.
Alien is the actress’ comeback to the big screen after the blockbuster sci-fi film Space Sweepers with Song Joong Ki.
Kim Tae Ri to Return With a New Drama?
As for appearance in Kdrama, the actress is rumored to return to Kdramaland with a drama series penned by the renowned screenwriter Kim Eun Hee, who is also the genius behind the thriller crime K-drama Signal and the hit K-zombie series Kingdom.
Kim Tae Ri was one of the top candidates to play the female lead in The Demon; unfortunately, Gong Yoo, who is courted to play the male protagonist declines to join the upcoming K-drama.
