Ryan Reynolds Outed Rob Liefeld’s Coke Habit In Deadpool 2

Just like its predecessor, Deadpool 2 was chock full of fun pop culture references and jabs. The film even had a pretty great way to give a quick shout out to the Merc with a Mouth's comic book creator, Rob Liefeld. However, it turns out that Ryan Reynolds actually gave away a few details about the comic book writer that he shouldn't really have, and now the Deadpool 2 star's come out with an apology.

For those who might not remember the fun little shout out to Deadpool's comic book creator (Deadpool does say a lot of things all of the time, he's just like a volcano gushing out expletives, shade, and obscenities), the Merc with a Mouth made a comment about Domino, one of the other mutant characters that Liefeld created.

Ranting about Domino's superhero powers, Reynolds gave a little shout out to Liefeld, one that may have been a bit too much.

"Seriously, I don't get it! What, do you shoot luck lasers out of your eyes? It's just, it's just hard to picture...it's certainly not very cinematic," the Merc with a Mouth says in the movie. "I mean luck? What coked out glass pipe sucker freak show comic book artist came up with that little chestnut. Probably a guy who can't draw feet!"

Liefeld just recently watched Deadpool 2's home video release and decided to share the sequence on Instagram (via ComicBook.com). The comic book writer acknowledged the shout out and then called out on Reynolds for outing him and his coke habit.

Reynolds then reached out to apologize in the comment section, which Liefeld replied with a quick "only downside is it confirmed my coke habit to my kids, I'd covered it for so long...."

Liefeld doesn't really seem to take it against Reynolds, though we have to say, the Merc with a Mouth certainly has a big mouth.

Deadpool 2 is now available on home release.
