Ryan Reynolds simply refuses to stop trying to convince Hugh Jackman to reprise his role as the adamantium-clawed mutant. The Pokemon: Detective Pikachu star has just called Jackman "selfish" for refusing to work on a Deadpool/Wolverine crossover.
It's no secret that Jackman has already retired from his X-Men role after working on Logan. However, Reynolds probably didn't get the memo or is simply ignoring it. The Once Upon a Deadpool star continues to plead with Jackman to work with him again, a request that still gets being shut down. Interestingly, a recent tweet possibly reveals Reynolds may have had enough as he calls Jackman "selfish." Take a look at the post below.
"I see @RealHughJackman is no longer allergic to selfish," Reynolds wrote. It's a hilariously disguised diss that only features more pleading for a Deadpool/Wolverine crossover.
Jackman has previously stated that the crossover film isn't what fans want. However, people have been trying to prove him wrong by pushing for the actor to reprise his role as Wolverine. Even Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld has penned an open letter to Jackman in hopes that the X-Men star would change his mind.
Although Jackman isn't quite committed to returning as the mutant, he has assured fans that "Wolverine will be back." Unfortunately, it's possible that a different character would need to take on the role if the Deadpool/Wolverine crossover will ever happen.
Reynolds will return in Once Upon a Deadpool this December, so expect more Wolverine references this holiday season.
