Deadly Class is currently one of the best titles Image Comics is currently publishing and it looks like the series is coming to SyFy soon. The network has ordered a pilot of the show, which will be produced by the Russo Brothers, who are mostly known for their work in Captain America: Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the pilot order based on the comic series by Rick Remender and Wes Craig. Described as a unique coming of age story, the series is set during the counterculture of the 80's. This series will follow a disillusioned youth who gets recruited into a high school for assassins, whilst trying to maintain his moral code.
While not super unique the comic book has struck a chord with fans and is Remender's most popular indie title. Prior to this, Remender made a career with his work on Marvel, particularly with Uncanny X-Force. The fact that a pilot episode has been ordered shows that it has appeal, which should be fun to see on the small screen.
Deadly Class joins the Tremors reboot and The Purge as optioned pilots for the SyFy channel. No release date or window was announced.
