Last month, Byul confirmed that her daughter with Running Man star HaHa was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome. She said that she could not speak about it as she did not know when she would feel better.

The couple also had to admit her to a hospital.

After a few weeks, Byul shared a new update regarding their daughter's status.

What Happened to HaHa, Byul's Daughter

On Instagram, the matriarch shared a photo of her daughter beaming smile on the camera. She then penned a lengthy message thanking everyone for their support.

Byul assured everyone that their child, Song Yi, is getting healthier every day despite the rare disease.

"I think we don't realize how little words of comfort can become a big force and make the other stand on one's feet again. I'll live on spreading the love I received!!" she went on.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Guillain-Barré Syndrome (or GBS) is a rare neurological disorder that affects a person's immune system. Instead of helping one's body, the system harms and damages the body's nerves, resulting in weakness or paralysis.

This resonated with her last update about Song, when she disclosed that she quickly recovered when they rushed her to a hospital.

HaHa and Byul got married in 2012. They share three children together — Dream, Soul, and Song.

HaHa, Byul Also Got Sick This Year

Before revealing Song's diagnosis, the couple singer tested positive for COVID-19 in February.

In a statement from her agency, Quan Entertainment, it was disclosed that she caught the virus on February 23. She tested positive for COVID-19 nearly two weeks since HaHa isolated himself after testing positive, as well.

Fortunately, the two recovered with the help of the COVID-19 vaccine doses they had previously received.
