Rumor: Marvel Wants Female Director for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still searching for a new director after the sudden firing of original director James Gunn after old offensive tweets were discovered by alt-right supporters. Marvel has been searching for a new director ever since, with many of us hoping they pick someone who brings similar humor and heart that the last two movies happened.

A new rumor has surfaced, claiming that Disney and Marvel Studios are hoping to get a female director to take over the movie. This is definitely an interesting way to turn the controversy away from the movie right now, though many of us are still bitter over James Gunn getting fired. The director definitely deserves justice but we can only hope that he gets his revenge with Suicide Squad 2.

I hear they want a female director to replace Gunn for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Not sure if true, so just a rumor for now. Again, just a RUMOR.

Keep in mind that this is only a rumor coming from a source that has provided hit-and-miss tales like this before. Fans may want to take this with a grain of salt, though it would be interesting to see if the movie does end up getting a female director. As long as the director is talented, fans shouldn't have a problem with this.

The movie was originally set for a 2020 release date, though Gunn's firing ended up putting the boots to that plan. Set sometime after Avengers 4, we know that a number of characters will be returning, confirming a number of rebirths, though we don't know how this will change after what has happened.

Avengers 4 comes out on May 3, 2019.
