Rogue One’s VFX Master Teases Another Star Wars Idea

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was a surprising success, especially for fans who were previously skeptical about expanding the universe with a brand-new inclusion. Now that we've seen what it has added to the Star Wars lore, we can't lie that we would want to see more.

And that's exactly what John Knoll may have in store for fans. The creator of the original story of Rogue One is supposedly has something new up his sleeve, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"I have another idea I've been tinkering with. It's maybe 75 percent there. I haven't pitched it to [Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.] It's another Star Wars thing."

This will increase the count for upcoming Star Wars movies, which is already a lot when you think about it. This December, we're expecting Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Han Solo spin-off, and an anthology film coming in 2020.

Instead of a saturation for audiences, Knoll did point out that Disney may be far from giving up on the idea of more Star Wars movies in the future. Of course, that's not to say that this will become a mass-produced franchise that will not require planning. For Knoll, the two key drivers to keep on delivering Star Wars movies are interest and quality, both of which are important on both sides of the creators and the audience.

If Rogue One is any indication of the intricacy that Knoll and the entire team handled the first Star Wars spin-off, it's safe to say that quality is far from lacking in this scene.

You can get your next fix of the universe in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, when it releases in theaters on Dec. 15.
