Fans often criticize Disney for putting out a lackluster sequel trilogy but despite all of its misses, the House of Mouse did something right (pre-Mandalorian, that is) with the creation of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Set before the events of the original trilogy, the 2016 film would prove to be a critical and financial hit for Disney, and a few years later, we're going back to where it all began with the upcoming Cassian Andor prequel series headlined by Diego Luna.

Aside from it laying the foundation for the Skywalker Saga, Rogue One is best remembered by fans for the heroic deaths of its main characters, including Chirrut Îmwe played by Donnie Yen. When asked by Looper if he'd be interested in making a Star Wars return, possibly in his own series set before the events of Rogue One, Yen simply didn't rule out the potential since his brief stint in the galaxy far, far away was met with a generally positive response.

He explains: "Well, I would definitely consider it. I had a great time shooting Rogue One, and I guess people like my character. It really depends, you don't know what they're thinking. I leave it up to Disney to sort it out. We'll see. I believe in destiny. A lot of times, what brings people together in one film, it's all about timing and destiny."

With Lucasfilm's expansion through Disney+, a dream return for Donnie Yen in the Star Wars franchise could end up being a reality. Heck, I wouldn't even be surprised if he actually popped up in a show like Andor since the production company is doing some prequel stuff. Of course, it will all depend on whether the fans want it or not.

Speaking of, Andor's official release date has yet to be revealed.
