Robert Downey Jr.’s Contract Is Ending After Endgame And Fans Are Freaking Out

Avengers: Endgame isn't just going to mark the end of Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie, the film is also going to mark the end of central superhero character arcs, including that of Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth).

However, while fans have acclimated to the possible retirement of Chris Evans, some still haven't understood that Endgame could be the last film for Robert Downey Jr. and now it seems like these fans are freaking out online. An RDJ fan account just dropped the "breaking news" on Twitter and now fans around the world are breaking their hearts.

Marvel fans are crying on Twitter, making outrageous claims saying that they'd kill themselves if they no longer see RDJ on the big screen or that they'd retire from watching Marvel films if the Marvel star ever stopped playing Iron Man. Some even called for petitions to renew RDJ's contract with Marvel Studios.

Check out some of the tweets down here:

While Endgame being the end for Evans and RDJ isn't necessarily new info, it's understandable to see the fanbase freaking out over the possibility of Tony Stark retiring from his role as Iron Man. RDJ has always been everyone's favorite mouthy Avenger, and it would be hard for the fanbase to go. If he does leave the role, however, this would pave the way for new heroes like Riri Williams, a 15 year-old engineering student who takes on the mantle of Iron Man from Tony.

Who would you like to see as the new Iron Man? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Avengers: Endgame hits cinemas April 26, 2019.
