Robert Downey Jr.'s Marvel exit is still a hard pill to swallow but it looks like the IronMan actor is enjoying his retirement as a member of the Avengers and in case you were hoping to see him back in the billion-dollar franchise, I hate to break it to you but RDJ himself pretty much confirmed that he's done with his Earth's Mightiest Heroes gig, and he's moving on to bigger and brighter things outside of the MCU bubble.

In a recent interview with the Hindustan Times, Downey shares that he had a great run as Tony Stark but it's time to move on. "Playing Tony/Iron Man was hard and I dug deep," he said. "I had an incredible 10-year run that was creatively satisfying." When asked if he found it hard to say goodbye to the role and to the MCU after his decade-long tenure, RDJ said: "I've done all I could with that character and can do other things now. Now, being middle-aged, you start looking at the back nine and realize this is all part of the journey, and things end. I am fortunate and eternally grateful to have wound up where I have."

It's sad to see Robert go but you know what day say, all good things must come to an end. Although the thought of Tony Stark miraculously coming back from the dead would be an astonishing sight to behold, I think it'll only do the franchise harm more than good. It will also lessen the value of his heroic sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame so yeah, let's just keep things the way they are now.

Meanwhile, MCU's Phase 4 will be kick-offed by WandaVision, premiering on January 15 on Disney+.
