According to Celebrity Net Worth, Robert Downey Jr. has an estimated net worth of $300 million. The American actor earned most of his fortune from acting as Marvel Cinematic Universe's Tony Stark in the eponymous Iron Man movie in 2008, which helped him earn around $500,000.

As the MCU franchise continues to grow all over the year, more movies are being released and so did Downey's salary. Interestingly, the veteran actor declined to receive a significant amount of salary that his co-stars agreed to for Endgame and Infinity War. Instead, Downey negotiated a lower salary together with some back-end deals.

Robert Downey Jr. Talked About Iron Man After Leaving MCU

Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. recently opened about the challenges he faced while portraying the iconic Iron Man character for decades. Though he already retired from playing the legendary hero, the actor keeps himself busy as he is helming DoLittle and produced Netflix's Sweet Tooth.

Downey told Hindustan Times that he is thankful for his 10-year superhero run. Though he did enjoy portraying the iconic role, the American actor said he is finished playing the character. He said:

"I did everything I could with that character and now I can do other things. Now, being middle-aged, you start looking at the last nine and you realize that this is all part of the journey and that things end. I am fortunate and eternally grateful to have ended up where I am."

During the same interview, Robert Downey Jr. also shared his plans for the future. He stated that:

Now I have much more ambition to do things that I had not done before. Evolving is key."

At the moment, CNet claimed that Downey has been spending a lot of time with his loved ones and is trying not to be overwhelmed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Among his imminent projects are All-Star Weekend – directed by Jamie Foxx – and the third installment of the Sherlock Holmes movie series.
