While Avengers: Endgame has wrapped up the Infinity Saga to say goodbye to the original six Avengers, the actors who play the beloved Marvel heroes recently had a video meeting. 3 characters are already set to return in a few MCU movies, but Robert Downey Jr.'s tease about the group's meeting got fans hoping for a reunion.
Downey joined director Joe Russo on Instagram Live during the Avengers: Endgame Quarantine Watch Party where he mentioned interfacing with his co-stars, presumably, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, and Jeremy Renner.
"I won't say why but I had an occasion to be interfacing with the other five of the original six Avengers just a few days ago," Downey revealed. "After we all kind of hung up or whatever off our Zoom call, I got this wave of all that, and yeah, it did feel like about a year ago."
"But, you know, it was years leading up to it," the actor added. "It was like a year to do it and finish it and get it out."
Of course, it shouldn't come as a surprise for the Avengers cast to remain friends and call each other now and then, given the years they had worked together. However, it isn't clear what the call was about, and whether it was just the six of them catching up or there might be something planned for the fans.
Considering that it has been a year since Avengers: Endgame was released, some fans are hoping that it could be some type of reunion between the six original Avengers to celebrate the anniversary of the film's release. That said, regardless of whether or not they have something planned, the thought of the six of them getting together to chat is already enough for most fans, knowing that they are still friends even after filming.
