R.L. Stine Gives Some Details For Man-Thing

Horror fans have something to look forward to in Marvel's line-up for its comics. Beyond superheroes, mutants, and those in between, there's also R.L. Stine's upcoming take on Man-Thing.

The first issue has already arrived, and CBR got a quick word with Stine on what exactly is happening for this series. According to the writer, he and artist German Peralta are tasked to create a new introduction to the creature in a very unique way: giving him a voice that he didn't use to have.

More than this take, Stine also looks forward to giving Man-Thing his usual treatment for writing, which is to give twist endings that focus on the human side of, yes, even monsters. That doesn't mean that Man-Thing will ease up on the horror. If anything, Stine is very much excited with creating something that goes back to the basics horror with Man-Thing.

"Man-Thing is pulled back into the swamps after struggling so hard to get out. He finds horrible disruption. Chaos. Strange animals. Something has happened to destroy the order. There's this character, the Oldfather, this ancient, responsible for keeping order in the swamp. Now he's been kidnapped, and it's up to Man-Thing to find him."

Man-Thing #1 is already out in stores.
